  Registration closes: Thursday, April 24, 2025 8:00 PM or when registration is full.

  This class will teach you emergency maneuvers, roadway safety skills and more. The 9-hour course is organized into two parts:

  Part 1: Prerequisite online courses prior to April 26th

  Part 2: 4.5-hour on-bike instruction includes: basic bike handling skills, emergency maneuvers, and a supervised road ride to practice new skills

  Students need to provide their own bikes and helmets. Helmets are required gear. Registration fee includes materials and manual.

  Upon completion of Parts 1 and 2, you are eligible to go through training to become a League Cycling Instructor (LCI) and be able to train all levels of riders how to confidently and effectively cycle for fun, fitness, and transportation.

  If inclement weather results in cancellation of the class it will be rescheduled for another date. Class size is limited to 10 students.

  The South Dakota Bicycle Summit baton has been passed to a statewide group. But don't worry, FAB is focused on providing local events to the area and are proud to announce the inaugural SIOUX FALLS FAB BICYCLE EXPOSITION

  This year we're focusing on YOU and your active lifestyle journey. 

  Join us for an afternoon of bicycle vendors, speakers, food, a bike ride and community. We'll be announcing speakers and details over the next few weeks.

  The expo is FREE to the public so tell your friends! You can help by clicking the register button to help get an idea of attendees. 

  If you like what Falls Area Bicyclists is about, please consider a membership or renewal with your registration. New FAB members who sign up the day of the event will receive a pair of socks!

  Supporting FAB helps us to be able to bring events like these for free to the community, and work to advocate for bicyclists rights and safety on the road in Sioux Falls and the surrounding area.

• Ride of Silence

  Join cyclists worldwide in a silent slow-paced ride (max. 12 mph/20kph) in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.

  THE RIDE OF SILENCE WILL NOT BE QUIET

  On Wed. May 21, 2025 at 7:00 PM, the Ride of Silence will traverse and unite the globe as nothing before it. Cyclists will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadway s. Although cyclists have a legal right to share the road with motorists, the motoring public often isn't aware of these rights, and sometimes not aware of the cyclists themselves.

  
  

  The Ride of Silence is a free ride that asks its cyclists to ride no faster than 12 mph, wear helmets, follow the rules of the road and remain silent during the ride. There are no registration fees.  The ride, which is held during National Bike Month, aims to raise the awareness of motorists, police and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways. The ride is also a chance to show respect for and honor the lives of those who have been killed or injured.

  Please check the resources on this site. If there is a Ride of Silence in your area, we encourage you to join them. If there is not a ride planned in your area, please consider adding your city to the ever-growing list of sites.
